Why is it always those of "race" that keep pulling the "race card" ****.
Do they feel that "inferior" that they need that crutch? Did the individuals in that race group that do succeed use the "race card" to get where they are, and feel everyone else needs that leverage, or did they actually use their brains and talents?
Most non - race based people are color blind. Its only those of race that keep seeing the "race problem" and harping on it.
People of Race need to get their heads out of their asses and join the rest of the world population in the 21st/22nd century.
Time to move on people.

I think it's a pre-disposition to a mild persecution complex.
If you stand out in any way and you think you've been slighted (insulted) because of it, then you get sensitive. You sometimes don't realize that people insult other people all the time - sometimes intentionally sometimes not.
If you're black, if you're oriental, if your speech slurs, if you're in a wheelchair, if you're ugly, heck even if you're simply a woman who has been "hit on" too aggressively, you can feel this persecution.
What you might not realize is that EVERYBODY feels it at one time or another. Even being a white male with good looks and a good job doesn't make you immune. EVERYBODY gets picked on at one time or another in life.

BUT the difference comes from people not knowing the difference between being "picked on" vs "persecution" perception.
And really that's all these race arguments are is percieved persecution.

Amen! I can't begin to tell you all what a problem this is for me...:D

I'm glad I'm not alone......:p
The article is kind of silly and the socialist cracks are merely another angle that McCain and co are making themselves look weak over.
As to the persecution complex, I don't think we can fully appreciate the lingering feelings African Americans feel when they look at their relatives from the civil war era and beyond.
It is easy for us to say we should just move on-while there is truth to that it just isn't that easy. I'm sure on reflection we can all think of things that we harbour ill will towards others over-does it come close to seeing pictures of your great grandparents in shackles? Most of our gripes are petty in comparison and we don't seem so willing to give them up either.

The funny thing about those "socialist cracks" --- in the USA they work. A large segment of the American public abhor big government. Even though the country is heavily into socialist policies, it is to a lesser extent than most, and Americans tend to feel it even less in their own minds. That is my impression.
